galaxy on the plaster ceiling, is a response to an invitation from bookstore and publishing platform, Print Aint Dead, to produce a ‘text-based artifact’. Envisioned as a reflection on non-linear stages of healing, acts of rehabilitation, mental health awareness, and concrete poetry, this full-color newsprint publication included a separate printed red transluscent page to align the broken text scattered throughout its pages. The format of this multi-part newspaper publication artwork references ‘The Feelings Wheel’, designed by psychotherapist, Gloria Wilcox, in 1982, which was itself inspired by Joseph Zinker's ideas of conceiving the therapist as an artist (Zinker, 1978), and Robert Plutchik's comparison of emotions to colors (Plutchik's 1980).
