An encounter is embedded in our material world. What does an act mean without its context? Questioning the object relationships to the movements in the performance I explore language through the formal abstractions taking place in the frame of this performance. This work builds upon the embedded hierarchy of familiarity in our assumed understanding of non-verbal dialogues including those with inanimate objects. Encounters take us through archetypes of potential fictions, becoming decoded as female, disabled, domestic, erotic and captive. The boundaries of these identities rely on a single continuous motion I carry through the total duration of the work. This lyrical relationship is inspired by the work of imaginary calligraphies and systems I have constructed as "site of inertia".
